Navigation on the Beagle Channel

The Beagle Channel Navigation is one of the traditional tours offered Ushuaia for watching sea lions and sea birds.

We recommend to go up to Les Eclaireurs lighthouse and the Bridges Islands, just outside the Bay of Ushuaia. The appeal of this activity is the view of the southernmost city in the world from the point of view of the first navigators of these waters in the South.

We leave the local seaport through Ushuaia bay, while we enjoy the mountaineous surroundings, we’re bound towards one of our city’s icons: Les Eclaireurs lighthouse. \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nWe wonder at the Rock Cormorants we watch on the rocky cliffs. On other islands we will find fur seals. We visit the “De los Pájaros” island inhabited by Royal and Imperial Cormorants, among other birds. \\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\n\\\\\\\\r\\\\\\\\nWe sail to one of the Bridges Isles, were we can find the biggest Yamana’s “concheros” (shell deposits) and splendid views of the Chilean and Argentinean shores. We disembark to go on a stroll down a path where flora and birds are interpreted along the archeological remains found there.

Daily departures from Ushuaia port at 9:30 AM and 3 PM.
