Winter: July to September

When winter tints Ushuaia with early shadows, the magic of the subpolar night invites us to discover the city from an intimate perspective. We will visit its old neighborhoods and panoramic viewpoints, walk through the forest illuminated by flashlights, and culminate the evening in an exclusive wooden cabin. There, a local family opens their doors to share a multi-course dinner and the warmth of their home.

Starting at 5:00 pm, the lights of the southernmost city in the world begin to flicker on, creating a unique setting. We begin this journey by reviving the history of Ushuaia as we tour its founding neighborhoods and marvel at the views of the Beagle Channel from the highest points.

We will then move on to a moment of deep connection with nature: a walk through the snowy forest, guided only by our headlamps. At the End of the World, urban life intertwines with the thickness of the trees, and we are convinced that traversing these trails in the silence of the night is one of the most moving experiences the island can offer.

The journey culminates in the warmth of a beautiful log cabin. In this cozy environment, where rustic design meets an elegantly served table, we will enjoy a dinner designed with high-quality products. The star of the night is our slow-braised beef, served in an atmosphere of calm and authentic hospitality. It is an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in the essence of Tierra del Fuego, sharing a refined table with the local community.

The weather in Tierra del Fuego is known for its variability; it is not uncommon to experience sun, rain, or snow and wind all in the same day. Average temperatures in winter usually hover around 0°C. Being prepared is key to fully enjoying the experience.

Essential Clothing: The "Onion" Method To guarantee comfort during outdoor activities, layering is crucial. The "onion skin" system allows you to adapt your clothing to changing weather conditions and your level of physical activity.

Layers: Dress in several thin layers that can be easily put on or taken off to regulate body temperature against the wind or sun.
Footwear: This is the most important piece. We recommend waterproof footwear or boots that offer robust protection, ideal for walking on wet, muddy, or snowy terrain.
Jacket: Indispensable. A waterproof or water-resistant jacket will effectively protect you from rain and wind.

Recommended Gear:

  • Thermal base layers (shirt and leggings for those who particularly feel the cold).
  • Comfortable long trekking pants.
  • Waterproof trekking boots for walking on mountainous terrain.
  • Fleece or microfleece jacket/sweatshirt.
